This rootstock is used for the propagation of fruit trees through budding or grafting the desired scion onto the rootstock. Quince rootstock is used for both quince and selected varieties of European pear.
Pears grafted on to the Quince A rootstock produce trees with a height after 5-10 years of approx. 3 m to 4 m. This is larger than the same variety on Quince C but not dramatically so.
Quinces grafted on Quince A would reach 3.5 m to 4 m. Quince A does best in good soils.
Check our information on pear rootstocks.
Rootstocks supplied in bundles of 5 grafting size plants.
*Plant growth is always influenced by climate, nutrition, water availability, scion vigour, etc, so height figures are always only a guide.
