Paradox Walnut (Juglans hindsii × J. regia) is a hybrid of the native Northern California walnut with the common walnut of Eurasia. Paradox was developed by master horticulturalist Luther Burbank in the late 1800s.
While giving low nut yield Paradox displays vigour and disease resistance, is a most attractive ornamental tree, produces fine timber and is often used as a rootstock for named walnut cultivars.
