Pyrus communis 'Grosse-Louise' arose as a chance seedling in a garden in Tourcoing, France in 1869. It bears large (big Louise!!), yellow-green, russeted fruit. Flesh is white, very juicy, free from grit, sweet and delicately perfumed (3).
