Magnolia x 'Elizabeth' is a cross between the cucumber tree (M. acuminata) and the Yulan magnolia (M. denudata). Elizabeth is a stunning and subtle yellow-flowered Magnolia. The tapered buds appear in winter and open late winter to early spring to large, fragrant, primrose-yellow blooms. Flowers are followed by large, dark green leaves on an upright, pyramidal form developing a more spreading habit as it matures.
A great landscape specimen, fits in all but the very smallest gardens and a wonderful shade tree with its wide-spread branches. Deciduous.
Grows to a small tree 6-8m tall by 5-6m wide.
