The very attractive Eastern Redbud (Cercis canadensis) grows to a small to medium rounded tree. In spring, the bare branches are covered with clusters of small rose-pink, pea-like flowers. These are followed by long seed pods that are very ornamental. The dark green heart-shaped leaves emerge after the flowers. This deciduous tree from eastern north America has multiple trunks and is a useful flowering tree for gardens and parks.
